Through the rise and falling apart, we discover who we are.

So a good friend of mine called a couple days ago.  This friend got married a couple months before I did.  She says, "Guess what?"  I'm thinking, maybe she's going to be out this way and we'll get a chance to see each other.  I'm thinking, maybe she and her husband are moving.  What I'm not thinking is what she says: "I'm pregnant."  Holy shit!  Wasn't expecting that one!  Then I kinda go into a state of shock (so I can only imagine what she's feeling) when I realize that she's the first friend of mine (other than a couple girls I knew that got pregnant in high school) to be having a baby.  So, we all started getting married and that was weird... now the bearing of children has begun, and that feels weird, too.  Damn, I've really grown up.
