Through the rise and falling apart, we discover who we are.

I made the attempt yesterday to get out and take some photos.  I hiked about 4 miles with my camera bag over my shoulder and my tripod in hand.  I got a nice hike, but the pics weren't what I was hoping for.  I was expecting more spring color (versus how dead everything still looked), it was overcast, and when I got to the location I really wanted to shoot, I couldn't get clear shots due to all the overgrowth.  Here's the best of the few I actually took.  I did, however, see about 20 heron(s?) all together in one area on my way home.  Unfortunately, I had no place to pull over and the light was quickly fading.
