Hey all,  I'm brand new to this, so I figured I'd just start by letting you know a little about where I'm coming from.  I recently graduated from college with a bachelor's in civil engineering and moved from MI to MD, following my fiance who came out about 6 months before me.  It's taken a little while to get settled in and used to things, but then that's true of all moves, right?  It's weird... I spent my whole life in MI up to this point, so it's quite a change.  Especially the weather - where's the snow?  Back home, I'm used to seeing snow piles anywhere from 3 to 6 feet high, but out here it's a big deal to get 6 inches.  Not such a good thing for skiing.  Now summer's coming up and I know that the humidity is gonna kill me!  Anyway, I started a job out here at the same facility where my fiance works.  It has absolutely nothing to do with civil engineering, but at least it's still an engineering job.  I've been working mainly on a lot of training courses, and it's neccessary to take some breaks every now and then.  One of my co-workers is quite active on Mindsay, so I thought I'd sign up and start typing to occupy some time.  Hopefully, I'll have some more exciting entries sometime soon, but at least this is a start.
