Through the rise and falling apart, we discover who we are.

I was supposed to be a homeowner today.

I'm not.

We went through all the paperwork, signed everything, thought we were finished, and then a phone call comes in: "keep them there for a little bit, something with the appraisal hasn't come through."

Yeah, a little bit turned into 4 fucking hours!

Apparently, because of some closing costs we have rolled into the mortgage, and outdated appraisal information, our loan amount is exceeding the appraised value of our new townhouse.  So we spent 5 hours at the mortgage office today, but do we have a house?  Noooo...  but we might finally get it tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and my grandma's in the hospital tonight... nothing serious (apparently), but all the same... not a great day.
